Difference between Tanned Python leather products and Natural Preserved Python leather products

The difference between Tanned Python leather and Natural Preserved Python leather comes down to the processing method.

Tanned Python leather is when the raw python skin is chemically tanned (usually vegetable, chrome, or aldehyde tanning).  Scales lie flatter and feel smoother after finishing. It’s appearance can be matte, glossy, metallic or dyed in various colors.

Naturally Preserved Python leather is salted, dried, and preserved with glycerin, alcohol, or formalin.  Its appearance retains a more natural color, similar to what the python looks like in the wild. This process creates  a more natural color variation.
